Two interesting musicians on the Copenhagen scene for improvised and experimental music with personal sound and unique ideas, Henrik Pultz Melbye and Claus Poulsen will meet on 3. June and play together for the first time. A real jazz “meeting”.
Reed player HPM has been very active on the Copenhagen scene for years and is known from his bands Svin, the HPM trio and countless collaborations, amongst them: Kasper Tranberg, Kresten Osgood, Jesper Zeuthen, Laura Toxværd, Jacob Anderskov, Adam Rudolph and Bon Iver.
During the last few years, CP is moving into the jazz scene from a new music, noise and ambient background. He has deveoped the “clausophone” which is a cymbal played with bass bow, extended techniques and effects, sometimes sounding like a saxophone, percussion, tuba/bass or just noise.
Henrik Pultz Melbye – saxophone, clarinet
Claus Poulsen – cymbal, electronics
